Light and Darkness

Guards with guns! To be or not to be seems to be the week’s conversation. We have an inherent defensive instinct that is hardwired into our psyche. It’s not something that we have intentionally processed; it happens, and we are driven to “fight or flight. " The flavour of the month seems to be all about the apocalypse, or a time linked to the “Badlands” or “Mad Max. " The end is coming, and it will be barren and tough. It is obvious Hollywood does not reference the Bible as a point of reference to drive them to production. However, we are either in one of two camps, the camp of light or darkness.  Even if you are unaware of your standing, I can assure you, based on scripture that the only true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the great I AM is your father, the father of light or Satan the devil is your father, the father of sin and darkness.

We all stand in one of two camps. Some might believe that they are good people, but sadly there is no good person, we are all sinners and in breach of the law of God. We are born children of the dark, why do we understand this? Satan is the father of lies; ask yourself this question will a liar tell you the truth if it will thwart their plans?

We need to come into the light and call upon the name of Jesus, without any ulterior motive or misguided cries rooted in selfishness; I have witnessed so many of them. It's not about financial gain or anything that places your wants above the will of God the Father. This will take a lifetime to unpack and integrate into our lives. I was saved (I came to the light, cried out to Jesus and asked him to forgive me for my sins and believed that he was the only one who had it in his power to forgive me) in 1987, and having a lifetime filled with joy and disappointment is how it has panned out. However, once you understand that God has called your name, saved you from certain judgment and given you a hope that is almost impossible to articulate to someone who still walks in darkness, the offer remains open to all: call upon the name of Jesus and ask for rescue. Do you need rescue? I most certainly do…

All those who choose to reject salvation in and through the finished work of the cross, love darkness more than light and the reason they do not come to the light is because their deeds are full of evil. This is not a truth I have conjured up; “And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

(John 3:19-21)

Home

Why is land so important, outside the realm of just having a place of your own? We all strive to have a home, and most want their own, a place they can call home. The Spirit will always push us (Christians) towards a home in heaven, as we are just pilgrims passing through. However, there will always be a pull from our flesh (carnality) to find a place called home.

Let’s go back to the beginning, not the beginning of time but the beginning of God singling out a man with whom he makes a covenant.  Abraham (originally Abram) lived in Ur of the Chaldeans, an ancient city in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq). This was his original homeland.

God called Abraham to leave Ur and later Haran (a city in modern-day Turkey or northern Syria) to go to a land that He would show him (Genesis 12:1). Abraham travelled with his family from Ur to Haran, where they stayed for some time before continuing his journey to Canaan, as instructed by God.

What Land Was He Given?

God promised Abraham and his descendants the land of Canaan (modern-day Israel and Palestine). This was reaffirmed multiple times in God's covenant with him (Genesis 12:7, Genesis 13:14-17, Genesis 15:18-21). The specific promise in Genesis 15:18 states that his descendants would inherit the land "from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates."

Let us pause for a second as I want us to consider God and His authority.

·        In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. He spoke the creations into being. Mull on that.

·         He separated the earth from heaven with an expanse

·        Water and dry land were given their rightful place; we have the seas and the earth as he had commissioned so many years ago. It wasn’t some big bang, an explosion without order that created the universe. I am fascinated when I see brilliant men with such brilliant minds that store so much information and general scientific knowledge but believe in “a big bang theory”; "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." (Romans 1:22) – this verse is often used to describe people who claim intellectual superiority or moral insight but, in doing so, reject true wisdom—especially divine truth—and end up embracing foolishness instead. Not on a carnal level but rather the blind leading the blind and both will suffer in hell. Blind to the gospel, the help line for all who repent and believe.

·        God then specifically brings forth seed and vegetation “according to its kind and bearing fruit according to its kind”. Specifically, it highlights the point of a seed according to its kind, and then the animals, birds and fish of “its kind”. In other words, this dispels the theory of evolution over billions of years. A chihuahua did not originate from a wolf.

·        Subject: God's Creation "According to Its Kind" vs. Evolutionary Theory

Evolutionary theory, especially Darwinian evolution, proposes that all living organisms share a common ancestor and that new species emerge over long periods through gradual changes (mutation, natural selection, etc.). This process implies a continuum of change, where one "kind" can slowly transform into another over time.

In contrast, the biblical model implies:

  • Fixed boundaries: "Kinds" were created distinctly, with the ability to reproduce within their category but not evolve into fundamentally different kinds.
  • Purposeful design: God made each creature intentionally, not by random mutation or natural selection.
  • No common descent: Humanity, for instance, is created uniquely in the image of God, not as a product of earlier species.

Creation “according to its kind” upholds a model of life with divinely established limits, whereas evolution suggests an ongoing transformation across those boundaries.

·         The biblical viewpoints to intelligent design and order, while evolution relies on randomness and natural processes.

·          For those who hold to the authority of Scripture, this phrase serves as a clear rebuttal to the idea that all life evolved from a common ancestor.

·        He then created man in his image and his likeness, male and female, he created them. The account in Genesis is very detailed.

So, with that now established and with the conflict in the Middle East, it is far more rooted than just a simple skirmish about some dirt. It’s a war or an angelic proportion of God against Satan. Although it is no match, the creator against the created, it still needs to play out. And this is why we are now witnessing a wrestle for the land, specifically, that region.

May the peace of God settle you

Choose a Side

South Africa is facing significant challenges, and divisions within society remain. While Nelson Mandela championed equality and the vision of a rainbow nation that apparently embraces all people, the legacy of the past continues to shape perspectives. Many black South Africans are still grappling with the painful history of apartheid, and reconciliation remains a complex process. At the same time, there are those who actively strive for unity and transformation. However, discussions on certain platforms, including those led by figures like Clement Manyathela and Bongani Bingwa, and Tshidi Madia, sometimes contribute to narratives that may deepen divisions rather than foster mutual understanding.

Why would I mention this in a blog post? Well, in South Africa as a whole, the constitution is anti-God; it opposes biblical teachings. God will never be mocked; His Word stands and will always stand. Therefore, for Christians, we have a responsibility to use our voices and proclaim the gospel as the only solution to God's judgment. Judgment for South Africa is coming. We went out of our way to confront Israel, taking them to court and accusing their prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, of war crimes. God never breaks His covenants; He made a covenant with Abraham, which was passed down to Isaac and Jacob. The covenant was not with Ishmael...

• Genesis 17:7 (NIV)
"I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you."

• Other important references include:

• • Genesis 12:1-3 – God's initial promise to bless Abraham and make him a great nation.

• • Genesis 15:18 – The covenant where God promises Abraham's descendants the land.

• • Genesis 22:17-18 – God's reaffirmation of the covenant after Abraham's willingness to sacrifice Isaac.

South Africa has publicly called out Israel as an enemy. Do you remember what happened to the countries that opposed Israel in the Old Testament? They were annihilated.

Christians must side with Israel, even at the expense of being cold-shouldered by the South African public and facing potential imprisonment for our stance. This is crucial; God will eventually turn the hearts of the Israelis, and they will come to accept the Lord Jesus as their Savior, their true Messiah, and many will repent with tears.

All hail King Jesus

Flesh vs Spirit

Walking in the Flesh vs. Walking in the Spirit

What is the difference between walking in the flesh and the Spirit? One is natural, bound to the physical world, while the other is spiritual, rooted in the eternal realm. If we analyse this logically, we can see that everything in the natural world is subject to physical laws—gravity, time, and eventually, death. Our bodies age and perish because the flesh is bound to mortality. However, as humans, we are not merely flesh; we also possess a soul and a spirit. This means that while our bodies are temporary, our spirits are eternal.

The existence of the spirit realm is undeniable. While we as physical beings cannot survive in space without assistance, spirits can exist beyond the confines of the material world. God created us with an eternal soul, and our time on earth is a testing phase. The question is: where will our souls spend eternity? The Bible is clear—those who call upon the name of Jesus, repent of their sins, and seek forgiveness will inherit eternal life. Those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God in the Lake of Fire. This is the ultimate truth, one that requires serious reflection.

How Do We Tap into Our Spiritual Side?

Many people seek spiritual awakening through various means—yoga, astrology, self-help philosophies—but these methods can lead to deception. There is only one true way to awaken the spirit: being born again. Jesus Himself said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).

While all spiritual avenues may lead to supernatural encounters, not all are aligned with God's truth. Satan is the father of lies, and his tactics are designed to lead people astray. Any practice that contradicts God’s Word should immediately raise alarm bells for those who have been born again. This is why the Bible must remain the final authority in our lives. If something opposes the Word of God, it is laced with deceit.

Standing Firm in Faith

To my beloved sisters in Christ, you are on the spiritual battlefield like never before. The world promotes ideologies such as women’s liberation and equal rights in ways that often conflict with biblical principles. Hold fast to the Word of God. Do not be swayed by cultural narratives that challenge the authority of Scripture. There is a reward for the faithful, and God's promises are worth more than any fleeting validation the world can offer.

Though we exist in both flesh and spirit, our flesh will die while our spirits will continue. The destination of our spirit—eternal life with God or eternal torment—depends on whether we accept the salvation offered through Jesus Christ. The reality of hell is not metaphorical; it is a place of unending suffering. In contrast, heaven and the New Jerusalem offer a state of eternal joy, free from pain and sorrow.

Understanding the work of Calvary and the immense price Jesus paid for our salvation should lead us to praise Him now and forever. All hail King Jesus!

A Message to Fence-Sitters

For those who are undecided, these are the facts: it is impossible to enter heaven without a spiritual awakening. Being born again is the key to unlocking spiritual truth. While many paths claim to offer enlightenment, they are deceptive traps—some obvious, others more subtle. One glaring red flag is the common phrase, “The universe gave this to me.” This reflects humanity's tendency to worship creation rather than the Creator. The universe did not create itself; God did. Align yourself with Him, not with false philosophies that distract from the truth.

Eternal life is real, and the choice is yours. Choose wisely.

Grace to all who confess Jesus as Lord

End Times - Judgment is coming

Let me be honest and clear, from the outset I have used an AI to help me with the breakdown of these facts. Why? Even though an AI can never give any heartfelt response and be guided by the Holy Spirit, it does, however, unpack facts accurately. It also helps with time saving and its accuracy is unparalleled. It also summarizes in point form better than I ever could.

The Seven Trumpets (Revelation 8–11)

When these trumpets sound, it’s not just noise— chaos unleashed! Each one brings a new level of devastation:

1.     First Trumpet:

o    What Happens: Hail and fire, mixed with blood, rain down.

o    Impact: A third of the earth, trees, and all the grass get scorched. It’s a bad day for anything green. The voices of the earth could even be blaming Global Warming, do not be fooled, this is the beginning of God's judgment.

2.     Second Trumpet:

o    What Happens: Something like a flaming mountain crashes into the sea.

o    Impact: A third of the sea turns to blood, a third of sea life dies, and a third of the ships are wrecked. Maritime disaster on a biblical scale!

3.     Third Trumpet:

o    What Happens: A star called Wormwood falls and poisons the waters.

o    Impact: Rivers and springs turn bitter, and many people don’t survive.

4.     Fourth Trumpet:

o    What Happens: A third of the sun, moon, and stars get struck.

o    Impact: Darkness takes over for part of the day and night. The world gets a whole lot gloomier.

5.     Fifth Trumpet (First Woe):

o    What Happens: A star falls, opens the abyss, and outcomes demonic locusts—like something out of a nightmare.

o    Impact: These locusts torment people who don’t have God’s seal for five months. It’s agony without escape. It is like the sting of a scorpion.

6.     Sixth Trumpet (Second Woe):

o    What Happens: Four angels at the Euphrates release an army of 200 million.

o    Impact: A third of humanity is wiped out by fire, smoke, and sulfur. That’s some serious firepower.

7.     Seventh Trumpet (Third Woe):

o    What Happens: The Kingdom of God is announced with a bang—lightning, earthquakes, hail.

o    Impact: This is the turning point, setting the stage for the final judgments.

The Seven Bowls (Vials) of Wrath (Revelation 16)

These bowls aren’t serving up wine—they’re pouring out pure wrath. The final round of judgments hits hard and fast:

1.     First Bowl:

o    What Happens: People with the mark of the beast get covered in painful sores.

o    Impact: It’s a bad day to have that mark.

2.     Second Bowl:

o    What Happens: The sea turns completely to blood.

o    Impact: Everything in the ocean dies. No more seafood, just a sea of blood.

3.     Third Bowl:

o    What Happens: Rivers and springs turn to blood too.

o    Impact: It’s payback for the blood of saints and prophets. Justice served—brutal, but fair.

4.     Fourth Bowl:

o    What Happens: The sun turns up the heat, scorching people.

o    Impact: Instead of repenting, they curse God. By implication, there seems to be no repentance found by those still alive.

5.     Fifth Bowl:

o    What Happens: Darkness covers the beast’s kingdom.

o    Impact: Pain and misery follow, but instead of changing their ways, people keep cursing God.

6.     Sixth Bowl:

o    What Happens: The Euphrates dries up, making way for armies from the East.

o    Impact: Demonic spirits performing miracles gather the world’s armies for the ultimate showdown—Armageddon. - The term Armageddon is derived from the Hebrew "Har Megiddo," which means Mount of Megiddo, a place in northern Israel. Historically, Megiddo is an ancient city that has seen many battles due to its strategic location.

7.     Seventh Bowl:

o    What Happens: A voice from heaven declares, “It is done!”

o    Impact: The worst earthquake ever hits, cities collapse, islands vanish, mountains disappear, and 100-pound hailstones drop. It’s the endgame.

Trumpets vs. Bowls: Key Differences

  • Scope: Trumpets hit a third of things; bowls go all-in.
  • Intensity: Trumpets are a warning; bowls are full-on judgment.
  • Timing: Trumpets sound earlier; bowls finish the job.

The Euphrates is still around, but it’s going through some serious stuff. It’s one of Western Asia's longest and most famous rivers, flowing through Turkey, Syria, and Iraq before teaming up with the Tigris River to form the Shatt al-Arab—which eventually spills into the Persian Gulf.

Here’s the lowdown:

1.     Where It Starts:

o    Kicks off in eastern Turkey from the Karasu and Murat rivers coming together.

2.     Length:

o    Runs about 2,800 kilometres (that’s 1,740 miles for the folks not into metrics).

3.     Countries on the Route:

o    Flows through Turkey, Syria, and Iraq—basically, it’s a big deal in the Middle East.

4.     Why It’s Important:

o    Supplies water for drinking, farming, and power to millions. This river’s been keeping things alive out there since forever.

5.     The Dam Drama:

o    Turkeys got some massive dams on it, like the Atatürk Dam, which mess with the flow downstream into Syria and Iraq.

6.     Current Problems:

o    The river’s drying up in some spots due to dams, droughts, and pollution—and it’s causing some serious political beef between the countries.

Euphrates in Prophecy: What’s That About?

In Revelation 16:12, it says the Euphrates dries up to make way for the kings of the East—basically setting the stage for some end-time action.
With the water levels dropping today, some folks are saying, “Hey, is this prophecy coming true right before our eyes?” It’s got people talking, for sure. Whilst others blame Global Warming.

So, yeah, the Euphrates isn’t just some river in a history book—it’s got a whole lot going on right now.

This probably sounds like a fairytale to many, but let me tell you that’s what the population in Noah’s day believed, don’t be fooled, God will never be mocked, this will come to pass just as it has been penned.

Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
